An
imposing block of card files, then a long, narrow corridor, framed on
both sides by similarly floor-to-ceiling card files, at the end a dark,
almost black pile, not immediately apparent. A whispering voice
continuously murmurs names from all over the world.
Monotonous. Endless.
Cold shivers run down my spine. It is, for me, an indescribably
powerful work commemorating the forced laborers during the Nazi
dictatorship who were enslaved and exploited here in steel production.
